Ever wondered how old your favorite characters from Chainsaw Man are? In the 7th episode of the show, Denji and his friends have a party where they drink, eat, and talk about themselves. Here, we were able to learn about Chainsaw Man characters’ ages and their birthdays.

As the Chainsaw Man anime series is quite new, many of the character details have yet to be revealed, but here is what we know so far about Denji, Makima and the other main characters in the series.

Denji’s Age

Chainsaw Man’s story is set in 1997 in an alternate universe where many things are different from ours. In the show, it’s confirmed that Denji was born on an unknown date in 1980, making him around 16 or 17 years old. 

The reason that he doesn’t know his age is that he’s lived his whole life alone with his dog and has never had a birthday. How sad! He also reveals that he adores sleeping and eating. Don’t we all, Denji?

Powers: Denji reaches the peak of his powers when he abandons his contract with Pochita. By doing this, he becomes a full devil, gaining supernatural strength and speed that allows him to defeat multiple Hybrid Devils. 

When he resides in Hell, Denji becomes even more powerful, and according to Makima, he killed every demon there. However, this power takes over Denji’s personality and consciousness, leaving him with only some of his memories.  

Later in the series, in order to save Kobeni, Makima defeats Denji. He is then saved by Power and returns to his original self. 

How old is Makima?

As of right now, neither manga nor anime fans know how old Makima is. However, if we take a guess depending on her looks, we might say that she is in her early to mid-twenties.

Or maybe she isn’t? Even if she appears to be young, we should point out that Makima is a devil, which means she’s probably not going to age as others do. 

Powers: Makima is one of the most mysterious characters in the show. The fans are still left in the dark about many of her characteristics, including her true powers. However, there are some things she has done using her borrowed devil powers.

She can use the powers of the Future Devil, Angel Devil, Zombie Devil, Punishment Devil, and Snake Devil.  

Also, Makima has the power to control any being she sees as lesser or inferior to herself. Once she chooses her target and uses these powers, she loses her memory. 

Makima can make others make contracts with her and other devils. She can then channel their powers through a chain that’s attached to her body. She can control all beings including animals, fiends, devils, humans, and hybrids whether they are alive or not. So, yeah…she’s pretty powerful.

There was a scene where Makima used this power to summon some of her dead enemies and use them as zombie slaves.

Aki Hayakawa Age

Aki is another character whose birthday or age is unknown, but there are some facts that can help us guess his age.

Firstly, he became a Devil hunter at a very young age after his family was killed by the Gun Devil. He was probably an early teen at that time. 

Next, Aki looks as young as Makima and is described as Denji’s senior, so he might be around 3 years older than Denji, making him around 20 years old. 

Power: Aki has a contract with the Cursed Devil which gives him the power to use a special sword that shortens his life. while this doesn’t seem like a good thing, the sword is ridiculously powerful. When attacking his enemies, Aki needs to say the word “fire” in order for the Cursed Devil’s hand to appear 

This sword allows Aki to summon the Escape Devil when attacking and marking his enemies three times. 

Aki has another interesting ability that allows him to see into the future and prepare for enemies’ upcoming attacks.

How old is Power?

Power is a fiend, which in Chainsaw Man’s world is a devil who possesses a human body. While being a fiend makes Power age differently from others, she has the look of an 18 to 20-year-old. 

She may look as young as Denji, but it’s still not confirmed if that’s her real age or if looking youthful is just one of the advantages of being a fiend. Even if she is older, Power acts like a younger sister to both Aki and Denji.

Powers: Power has the ability to use blood in a lot of clever ways. She can use her own blood as a resource to make weapons. She can also manipulate others’ blood in order to stop them from bleeding out. And, she is able to interfere with others’ ability to regenerate by mixing her blood with theirs. 

Power can use blood for healing purposes, too. As a fiend, she can use blood to heal. And as a Blood Devil, consuming the blood of stronger devils can revive her.

According to Power, every devil fears her to the point that they run from her scent. However, Power is a bit arrogant, so you can’t take this too seriously.

Himeno’s Age

We don’t know when Himeno was born or how old she is, but she is surely older than all of the characters mentioned before. We know this because Himeno is Aki’s senior by some years.

Despite being his senior, she and Aki hang out as friends and have a very relaxed relationship, so she may not be much older than him.

If we take a guess, Himeno might be around 25 years old (give or take a year or two).

How old is Kobeni?

Kobeni is one of the devil hunters. She has a contract with a devil, but the identity of the devil is still a secret. 

At the party in the 7th episode, Kobeni opens up and unveils that she is 20 years old, meaning she was born in 1977. 

Kobeni also mentions that she has eight sisters and a brother. Whether she is older or younger than them is unknown. Considering that her family forced her to bring them money makes her one of the oldest—or maybe the oldest—sibling.

Arai’s Age

At the party, Arai opens up about himself and reveals that he has a contract with the Fox Devil, loves to write Haikus, and is 22 years old. This means that Arai was born in 1975, making him older than Kobeni. 

Kishibe Age

Age and birthday: We don’t know when he was born, but we know Kishibe is in his early 50s.

Height: Unknown 

Powers: Kishibe is a devil hunter who is a part of the Tokyo Special Division 4. According to Makima, he is the strongest hunter in the division. He is described as “quite dangerous” and is feared by the devils.

Kishibe is a master in close combat and has easily defeated many devils—something that he proved by vanquishing the two devils who worked for Quanxi. He has also unleashed his brutality on much stronger devils like Denji and Power, making them look helpless.

Reze

Age, birthday, and height: Unknown 

Powers: Reze can use the collar on her neck to explode and transform into a hybrid form. When doing this, she can choose to explode only her head and leave a decoy of herself behind. This decoy can throw its own head and, of course, explode. 

She is also physically strong and can be very dangerous in close. Because Reze is a hybrid, she can use blood to heal herself. For example, drinking the Typhoon Devil’s blood helped her regrow her leg. 

Quanxi

Age and birthday: We don’t know when Quanxi was born, but our guess is that she is between 30 and 50 years old.

Height: Unknown 

Powers: According to Hirofumi Yoshina, Quanxi’s strength is out of this world. Using her swords, she is able to cut through many people. But she’s so strong, that her swords often shatter due to the force of her attack, requiring her to switch swords often in battle.

Apart from her strength, Quianxi possesses superhuman speed, a power demonstrated in the scene where she ran away from five devil hunters while using her sword skills to eliminate the Puppet Devil’s puppets.

Beam

Age, birthday, and height: Unknown

Powers: Beam can pass through walls and swim through solid objects. Unfortunately, he can’t share this power when holding others or large objects. Beam can also reshape his head into a shark’s head, allowing him to defeat his enemies with vicious shark bites.

As a fiend and a devil, Beam can heal and revive by consuming blood. 

Cosmo

Age, birthday, and height: Unknown

Powers: Cosmo can send her enemies to a different dimension, cursing them with infinite knowledge. While in this state, the affected person cannot think or say anything other than “Halloween.”

Cosmo can also regenerate herself by drinking blood. 

Galgali

Age, birthday, and height: Unknown 

Powers: Ever wondered why Galgali wears a mask? Well, this mask keeps his powers in check—the same powers that shattered the ground when he fought Reze. He can also transform certain parts of his body. For example, he can make his arms longer and stronger.

He specializes in close combat and can easily shatter a wooden beam with a single punch or kill a zombie with a kick.

Galgali is a fiend, so he can heal himself by drinking blood.

Angel

Age, birthday, and height: Unknown 

Power: The Angel Devil is the second strongest member of the Tokyo Special Division 4, just behind the previously mentioned Kishibe. He can absorb life span through contact and even kill a human if he holds them long enough.

By absorbing life, he can create supernatural weapons like Aki’s Katana—a sword that’s able to cut through the Ghost Devil. 

Offensively, the Angel Devil can create a sword from his halo, but it costs a hundred years of stored life span. At least he can always absorb more! If he uses a thousand years, he can create a spear that can kill the Chainsaw Man. 

Defensively, he can use his wings as shields.  

Princi  Age, birthday, and height

Unknown

Powers: Princi is a spider-like human with spider-like powers. She can use her limbs to walk on walls and attack her enemies. As the Spider Devil, she can regenerate herself by drinking blood. 

Asa Mitaka

Age, birthday, and height: Unknown 

Powers: Asa Mitaka is connected to the War Devil, and she can read his mind. While under the War Devil’s control, Asa Mitaka can witness everything happening around her as a ghost. 

The contract these two made allows for either one to control Mitaka’s body, while the other observes, unable to physically interact with anything. 

Her appearance changes when the War Devil is in control, but it’s still unknown if this change is real or just a part of Asa Mitaka’s hallucinations.

Nayuta Age and birthday

Nayuta is a reincarnated Control Devil. She was reincarnated in 1997, which technically makes her 0 years old. However, she is the reincarnated form of Makima, making her wiser than the average infant.

Height: Unknown

Powers: Nayuta has the same powers as Makima, but she isn’t the same person as Makima. Her upbringing can still determine whether she chooses the path of good or evil in this life. She’s still a devil though, so she can regenerate by drinking blood and also do all of the things a devil can do. 

Final Words

Chainsaw Man is a fantastic show and truly a breath of fresh air in the world of anime and manga. We love the fact that there are many meaningful characters. We’ve already fallen in love with most of them!  

Many fans (like us) want to know everything about the characters, including the Chainsaw Man characters’ ages and birthdays. We’re lucky to have got some information, but the rest is still a secret. I guess we’ll have to keep watching!
