- The Cutest of the Bunch!
The world of anime is where our fantasies come to life. We can be heroes, villains—and even lovers! One of the primary reasons people enjoy anime is the eye candy on screen. We’re talking about the curvaceous ladies and adorable heroes that keep us coming back episode after episode!
But today is all about the boys. Hundreds of cute anime boys have graced our screens, but we did the painstaking work (ok, maybe it wasn’t that tough!) to choose the top 19.
If you want to scream KAWAII and fall head-over-heels with their cutesy patootie ways, check out our list of the top 19 cutest anime boys (they’re the most adorable ever!).
Juuzuo Suzuya (Tokyo Ghoul)
Aloof, unique, and androgynous, Juuzuo Suzuya captivates the eyes of Tokyo Ghoul fans with his pale skin and iconic red pins. At first look, he comes across as intimidating, but this is where he gets his allure.
His playful and childish demeanor complements his innocent smile. Even though his lack of morals is a tad alarming, this stark contrast from his appearance makes his character interesting and exciting.
Trust me when I say that his cuteness is something you need to see in action to believe. Still images don’t do him justice!
Tetsuya Kuroko (Kuroko no Basketball)
Who wouldn’t swoon over a blue-haired boy with a deadpan attitude? Tetsuya Kuroko is a not-so-macho yet super-cool athlete. Plus, he takes teamwork seriously. His teammates often rely on him to save the day.
His blank stare and his carefree and clueless attitude are a clever misdirect from his ability to outwit opponents and make fantastic plays with his passing skills.
At the same time, he’s a gentleman that knows how to treat the ladies right! It doesn’t get any better than that. Oh, wait! It gets better! His clumsy moments make him a lovable and all-too-human character.
Nagisa Hazuki (Free!)
It wouldn’t make sense not to gush over Nagisa Hazuki with his schoolboy look and shimmering magenta eyes. This adorable swimmer likes to speak his mind, and there’s no doubt that this attitude gets him in trouble. But, there’s no mischief that he can’t escape!
He is cheerful and very enthusiastic. He rushes to pursue anything that interests him and never backs down. Nonetheless, Nagisa is an uber-fresh type of cutie pie with an adorable side that draws you in. You won’t be able to resist!
Miyano Yoshikazu (Sasaki to Miyano)
It doesn’t matter whether you’re a fan of BL (Boys Love) or not. Miyano is someone who makes hearts flutter—whether those hearts are inside boys’ or girls’ chests. His magnetic adoration for BL manga makes him extra relatable for fans that can’t get enough BL!
The romantic moments where he blushes over his budding relationship with Sasaki senpai is a wholesome treat that puts his cuteness on another level. Although he exhibits insecurity about his feminine features, he’s never overly timid and gloomy.
Instead, he shows a refreshing display of politeness and meekness that makes you want to pinch his cheeks.
Ryoma Echizen (Prince of Tennis)
Known for his catchphrase, “mada mada dane,” Ryoma rose to notoriety as a genius in the world of tennis. Although he is self-critical, he does it for his love and passion for tennis—a trait that makes him super kakoi yet super kawaii!
With his child-like appearance, short stature, and smug smile, it is no surprise that he’s a natural with the ladies. This prodigy is known for his iconic cap, Seigaku jacket, and tennis racket. Every fan loves to cheer him on—whether they like tennis…or just watching Ryoma!
Alladin (Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic)
Alladin’s visual allure grew exponentially over time. Like, seriously, all you have to do is look at how he’s portrayed as a child (anime) and as a grown-up (manga), and you’ll see the massive difference—in a good way, that is!
From the beginning, this blue-haired cutie is seen wearing a turban to keep his medium bangs and thin back braid intact as he wields a staff in his adventures. As he grows up, he loses the turban but keeps the ruby on his forehead.
Ever since he was a child, Alladin has been known to be cheerful, friendly, and loyal to his friends. He goes out of his way to protect his friends, which gives him a reason to grow stronger.
He’s calm-headed, cheerful, and selfless—a perfect combination for an ideal husbando!
Luck Voltia (Black Clover)
Who would’ve thought this naughty guy who loves to instigate fights would have a sociopathic side? While his personality may be a bit offputting, his smiling face will instantly drown you in thoughts of squishy marshmallows and rainbows!
His short stature, blonde hair, and cheeky smile contradict his need to defeat stronger enemies (which, for me, is a hallmark of awesomeness rather than cuteness), and his troublemaking schemes contribute to his cute and clumsy vibes.
Shoyo Hinata (Haikyu!!)
Persistent, passionate, and relentless—these are characteristics of a top-tier athlete. While it’s safe to say that sports anime always give us our daily dose of ikemens, Shoyo Hinata begs to differ.
In addition to his outstanding athleticism, Shoyo Hinata from Haikyu!! is a cute middle-blocker that oozes a child-like charm that makes you want to root for him as he flies to spike the volleyball.
He dons orange spiked hair that complements his loud and bubbly personality. While he can be a scaredy-cat, he’s the type of cutie you’d like to protect until they’re ready to take the offense.
Mikoto Mikoshiba (Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun)
Before anything else, I’d like to say that I believe there’s a hard distinction between cute and hot. In line with this thought, I would classify Mikoto Mikoshiba as a super kawaii anime boy not only because of his devilish good looks but also for his shy and perceptive demeanor.
This fiery red cutie is known for his red hair and ears pierced with red studs. On his off days, he likes to wear flirty fashion pieces. Mikoto Mikoshiba attracts the gaze of both women and men alike.
However, despite this playboy façade, he quickly gets embarrassed by his actions. He is initially timid and a definite tsundere. To me, there’s nothing cuter than a guy who tries his best to act confident only to feel super self-conscious about his actions.
Izuki Midoriya (My Hero Academia)
Heroic with a remarkable sense of justice, Izuki Midoriya’s cuteness is the polar opposite of the boy he truly is. This short stuff continuously extends a helping hand to those who desperately need it. But what truly makes him a cutie is his sparkly green eyes that always light up when he smiles!
At first, his skinny build doesn’t seem to do his wavy green locks justice, but fans of the anime witness how his extensive training paved the way for him to bulk up and be strong. Despite getting stronger (and definitely becoming more muscular), Midoriya never loses his innocent appeal we’ve all come to love.

Yoon (Akatsuki no Yona)
A list of cute anime boys will never be complete without a character with gorgeous apricot-colored hair. Yes, I’m talking about Yoon from Akatsuki no Yona.
In the anime, Yoon is often mistaken for a girl because of his petite frame and feminine face. While this alone can’t justify why he’s on this list, Yoon will always be a favorite toy boy among the anime’s roster of characters.
Additional aspects that make Yoon an absolute treat to watch are his confidence, intelligence, and resourcefulness. He can be heard touting himself as a “genius pretty boy,” and he is never shy from hurling one or two insults at his friends. But underneath this seemingly arrogant attitude is a boy that deeply cares.
Mafuyu Sota (Given)
Mafuyu’s beautiful Sakura-colored hair and his angelic appearance will surely melt your heart (kyaaaahh!). Although Mafuyu and Uenoyama’s first meeting brings a wave of tragedy, their relationship blossoms into one that’s genuinely swoon-worthy and wholesome.
Aside from his physical features, Mafuyu is indeed a cutie for his charming and aloof personality. Not to mention, his singing voice is superb! Listening to it makes you feel like you are being hugged by a Sakura-colored teddy bear.
Nagisa Shiota (Assassination Classroom)
Nagisa is often teased for his androgynous features, thin frame, and quirky pigtails. But this eye candy gives meaning to the word head-turner with his azure hair and dazzling blue eyes.
He has a calm and collected demeanor, and he’s also perceptive of his surroundings. He’s a guy that notices the little things (swoon!). One thing you should note, however, is that he can be misleading…what a tease.
You’ll be surprised how this cutie pie can be extremely hostile—with bloodlust eyes yearning to kill.
Kurusu Syo (Uta no Prince-Sama)
Stealing fans’ hearts one unique outfit at a time is none other than Syo-chan. His blonde-and-pink colored hair and fancy fashion ensembles make him the best-dressed character in Uta no Prince-Sama.
While Syo adores the attention and adoration he gets, there’s one caveat that anime fans are well aware of—he’d rather be called “stylish” than “cute.” This complex may have stemmed from people teasing him about his height.
Despite all of that, it can never be denied that Syo-chan is a delight to watch. From his upbeat personality, hot-headed demeanor, and eye-catching outfits, he is one cutie you can always swoon over.
Gon Freecs (Hunter X Hunter)
I still remember seeing Gon on TV—it was love at first sight! This cute anime boy embodies the meaning of the word “adventurous.” He is always curious, extremely athletic, and super bubbly!
If you’d meet him on a nature trip, you’d probably remember more of him than the scenery. His spiky green hair is more charming than any landscape!
Although these positive qualities make him memorable, these are also his downfalls. He tends to be impulsive, and his curiosity puts him and his friends in harm’s way. The good thing is that he grows stronger with every challenge he faces.
Killua Zoldyck (Hunter X Hunter)
Another cutie pie from the Hunter X Hunter anime, Killua, shares similar characteristics with Gon. They are both energetic, cheeky, and mischievous. The only difference is that Killua often makes blunt and rude remarks toward strangers and the elderly. His brutal honesty isn’t always politically correct, but it’s undeniably attractive!
He is sharp, quick-witted, and mature. His abilities and way of thinking are beyond his years, but his love for sweets, especially chocolates, brings out the innocent boy in him.
Be careful not to fall too hard! His love for chocolates and overall positive outlook can mask his bloodthirsty side.
Ciel Phantomhive (Black Butler)
Eye patches are common in rugged, tough, and deadly pirates. However, Ciel Phantomhive is out to reinvent the eye patch. He’s taking eye patches to a new (and cute) level!
While his ascension to the head of the House of Phantomhive is tragic, he’s doing it with charisma and determination. Using Sebastian Michaelis as a tool, he vows to bring pain, humiliation, and suffering to those who inflict the same upon him.
In the anime, he is seen donning an extensive selection of stylish suits. He has a slim figure, blue-black hair, and deep blue eyes that you can get lost in.
Lag Seeing (Tegami Bachi)
Lag Seeing is adorable, sensitive, and kind-hearted—all hallmarks of cuteness! He is often seen wearing the Letter Bee uniform in the anime. But his short stature, purple eye, and ghost-white hair are what place him among the cutest anime boys ever.
He is often teased as a crybaby by other characters in the anime. However, his conviction and passion allow him to push beyond challenges and accomplish anything he sets his mind to.
This shorty values relationships and friendships above all else. And nothing is more attractive than loyalty in a cute boy!
Mitsukuni “Honey” Haninozuka (Ouran High School Host Club)
If there’s one anime boy that delivers so much cuteness that you’ll practically drown in flowers, teddy bears, and sweets, it’s Honey-senpai!
He loves all things cute, and his childlike attitude earns him the adoration of just about everyone. In the anime, he has blonde hair and captivating brown eyes, and he is always found by Takashi “Mori” Morinozuka’s side.
While he appears dimwitted and overbearingly sweet, Honey-senpai is incredibly perceptive of other people’s emotions. His youthful looks starkly contrast with the fact that he is the most mature and the oldest in the host club. Oh, and he’s a martial arts champion!
The Cutest of the Bunch!
This list is a definitive ranking of the top cute anime boys of all time. But who is the cutest of the cute? That’s up to you, but my top favorites are Honey-senpai, Mafuyu, and Tetsuya. I’m a sucker for cuties who have athletic skills!
While the world of anime expands, our cuteness standards are also bound to evolve. Needless to say, this list might grow in time because of all the future anime cuties that will come our way.
