Aragog

Aragog was a massive spider and Hagrid’s pet. He became the ruler of an ever-growing family of spiders who lived deep in the Forbidden Forest. Aragog often came to Hagrid’s aid and even saved Harry Potter and his friends from Voldemort during their visit to the forest. Ludo Bagman

Amelia Bones

Amelia Bones was an important figure in the Ministry of Magic. She was a dedicated employee and Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement. Unfortunately, she was murdered by Death Eater Bellatrix Lestrange during the Battle of the Department of Mysteries. Amelia fought for justice and was a solid ally to Dumbledore’s Army during her lifetime. Her death devastated her colleagues and friends, but with their help, the truth about Voldemort’s plan was eventually revealed.

Susan Bones

Susan Bones was a student at Hogwarts and a member of the Hufflepuff house. Susan was open-minded and kind, and she often gave the Golden Trio helpful advice on handling difficult situations. Terry Boot

Reginald Cattermole

Reginald Cattermole was a Muggle who worked in the Ministry of Magic. He fell victim to the Golden Trio as they attempted to infiltrate the Ministry of Magic. Hermione slipped Reginold a puking pastille, which caused him to vomit uncontrollably and forced him to visit St. Mungo’s hospital. With Reg out of the way, Ron could take on his form and enter the Ministry.

Cho Chang

Cho Chang was a Ravenclaw student at Hogwarts and a member of Dumbledore’s Army. She was an outgoing student and a seeker for the Ravenclaw Quidditch team. Cho played a crucial role in helping Harry during the Battle of Hogwarts, bravely fighting against the Death Eaters to protect the school.

Penelope Clearwater

Penelope Clearwater was a Ravenclaw student at Hogwarts and Percy Weasley’s girlfriend, though they didn’t end up marrying. In Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, she is petrified by the monster in the chamber along with Hermione. She was a friend of Hermione’s, and during Voldemort’s reign, Hermione pretended to be Penelope to avoid the Dark Lord’s anti-muggle-born policies.

Crabbe

Mr. Crabbe was a Dark Wizard and a Death Eater who fought under Lord Voldemort in the First Wizarding War. After the Dark Lord fell, Crabbe was wrongfully acquitted of being a Death Eater and went on to start a family. His son, Vincent Crabbe, would go on to join House Slytherin and become a loyal follower of Draco Malfoy.

Vincent Crabbe

Vincent Crabbe was the son of Mr. Crabbe and a Slytherin student at Hogwarts. He was a follower of Lord Voldemort and often bullied other students who disagreed with the Dark Lord’s beliefs. Crabbe ascended to become a Dark Wizard in his last year of Hogwarts, following in his father’s footsteps. He accidentally killed himself with FiendFyre during the Battle of Hogwarts.

Colin Creevey

Colin Creevey was a Gryffindor student at Hogwarts who was a big fan of Harry Potter—likely because he was muggle-born. He was brave and eager to help out in any way he could, even if it put his life in danger. Unfortunately, he was expelled from Hogwarts in his sixth year due to Lord Voldemort’s policy against muggle-borns attending the school.

Dennis Creevey

Dennis Creevey was Colin’s younger brother. He was a Gryffindor student three years below Harry Potter He was a member of Dumbledore’s Army and fought in the Battle of Hogwarts against Lord Voldemort’s forces. Sadly, he died during the battle. He was killed by Death Eaters. Dennis showed immense courage and bravery, even when faced with impossible odds.

Dirk Cresswell

Dirk Cresswell is a Muggle-born wizard who became Head of the Goblin Liaison Office in the Ministry of Magic. He attended Hogwarts in the 1970s, and was a favorite student of Horace Slughorn, the potions master. Cresswell was embroiled in controversy for forging his blood status. He was eventually found out and arrested by Death Eater supporter Albert Runcorn.

Barty Crouch Sr

Barty Crouch Sr. was a Ministry of Magic employee who served as Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement during Voldemort’s reign. He was murdered by his son, Barty Crouch Jr., who had joined Lord Voldemort to become a Death Eater. Barty Crouch Sr. was a cold and sometimes rude man, but he had a good heart and was devoted to obeying the law.

Barty Crouch Jr

Barty Crouch Jr. was a Death Eater who infiltrated Hogwarts during Lord Voldemort’s reign. He hid his identity and went by the pseudonym, Alastor Moody. He was eventually captured and convicted of his crimes, but not before doing immense damage to the school. Barty Crouch Jr. even murdered his father, Barty Crouch Sr.

Crookshanks

Crookshanks was Hermione Granger’s pet cat. He could understand human speech and helped Harry, Ron, and Hermione during their fight against Lord Voldemort. It’s eventually revealed that Crookshanks was originally Lily Potter’s Cat. Crookshanks isn’t much to look at, but he is incredibly intelligent and played a role in helping save Hogwarts from the Dark Lord’s forces.

John Dawlish

John Dawlish is a minor character in the Harry Potter series, appearing in the fifth and seventh books. He is a high-ranking member of the Auror office, a group of dark wizard hunters in the wizarding world. Dawlish is described as a “burly” man with a “crooked nose” and a “thuggish appearance.” He is loyal to the Ministry of Magic and is tasked with capturing Harry Potter, whom the Ministry believes to be a dangerous threat. Later, Arabella is revealed to be a member of the Order of the Phoenix and a valued member of the wizarding community. She plays a minor role in the series but is an ally of Harry and his friends.

Argus Filch

Filch is described as being a “sinister” and “leathery-faced” man with a “whip-like” body and a “reptilian” appearance. He is strict and unforgiving, and he’s often at odds with the students of Hogwarts. Filch has a close relationship with his cat, Mrs. Norris, and is very protective of her. Despite his attitude, Filch is ultimately revealed to have a softer side and cares deeply for the well-being of the students at Hogwarts.

Justin Finch-Fletchley

Justin Finch-Fletchley is a muggle-born Hogwarts student introduced in the first book, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. He is a member of Hufflepuff House and is described as being “cheerful” and “good-natured” with a “round, friendly” face and a “kind” demeanor. He found himself at odds with Harry Potter a few times throughout the series. He suspected Harry of being the heir of Salazar Slytherin in Chamber of Secrets and was also angered by his joining the Triwizard Tournament in Goblet of Fire. Justin and Harry eventually reconciled and Justin became a loyal member of Dumbledore’s Army.

Seamus Finnigan

Seamus Finnigan is a Hogwarts student who is introduced in the first book, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. He is a member of Gryffindor House. Seamus is described as being a “gangly” and “fair-haired” boy, with a “nervous” and “excitable” personality. He is intelligent and hardworking, and he has a strong relationship with his parents. Seamus shares a dormitory with Harry and Ron, and he eventually becomes best friends with fellow student Dean Thomas. In the Harry Potter movies, Seamus is constantly setting things on fire or causing them to explode.

Firenze

Firenze is a centaur who is introduced in the first book, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. He is a member of the Forbidden Forest community and is described as being a “majestic” and “noble” centaur, with a “proud” and “dignified” demeanor. Firenze has magical powers, including the ability to predict the future and heal others. Eventually. He leaves the forest and begins teaching Divination at Hogwarts.

Nicolas Flamel

Nicolas Flamel is introduced in the first book, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, where he is shown to be the alchemist who created the Sorcerer’s Stone, a powerful and legendary magical artifact. Flamel is an elderly man with a “kindly” face and a “long, white” beard. He is wise and compassionate, and he had a close relationship with Albus Dumbledore, the headmaster of Hogwarts. Flamel was over 600 years old—the result of drinking the elixir of life made from the Sorcerer’s Stone. It’s suspected that he died soon after the stone was destroyed.

Mundungus Fletcher

Mundungus Fletcher is an original member of the Order of the Phoenix introduced in the fourth book, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. He is described as being a “shabby” and “disreputable” man, with a “scruffy” appearance and a “sly” demeanor. He is a dealer of stolen goods and somewhat of a con man, and as a result, he’s not often trusted by other members of the Order. Despite this, Mundungus is loyal to Dumbledore and fought against Voldemort in the Second Wizarding War.

Filius Flitwick

Filius Flitwick is a half-wizard, half-goblin and the Charms Master at Hogwarts. He is introduced in the first book, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone and is described as being a “tiny” and “elderly” man with a “round, cheerful” face and a “high-pitched” voice. He is the head of Ravenclaw House and is fiercely devoted to his students. Flitwick fought against Voldemort in the First and Second Wizarding Wars and participated in many battles against the Dark Lord throughout the series.

Fluffy

Fluffy is a three-headed dog introduced in the first book, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. He is the guardian of the entrance to the Philosopher’s Stone, a powerful magical artifact. Fluffy is a “gigantic” and “fearsome” dog, with “shaggy” fur and three “snarling” heads. He is fierce and protective—willing to defend the Philosopher’s Stone at all costs. But he also has a close bond with Hagrid, who revealed to Harry, Ron, and Hermione that they could get past Fluffy by lulling him to sleep with music.

Cornelius Fudge

Cornelius Fudge is the Minister of Magic, the highest political authority in the wizarding world. He is introduced in the second book, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. Fudge is described as being a “plump” and “jovial” man, with a “round, pink” face and a “genial” demeanor. He is kind and compassionate, and he is fiercely devoted to the welfare of the wizarding community. Despite this, he isn’t known for making the right calls. He imprisons Hagrid unjustly, sends Dementors to Hogwarts in search of Sirius Black, and refuses to believe Harry about Voldemort’s return. Fudge is considered an ineffective leader, but his heart was always in the right place.
