How Did Sasuke Get the Mangekyo Sharingan?

Sasuke Uchiha‘s got some serious eye game with his Mangekyo Sharingan, a Dojutsu that only a few lucky members of the Uchiha clan possess.

And how do you obtain this powerful Dojutsu, you ask? Well, it’s simple – just experience some significant emotional trauma. In Sasuke’s case, he unlocks the Mangekyo Sharingan after the death of his older brother, Itachi.

But even after years of plotting to kill his brother, Sasuke wasn’t responsible for his death. Instead, he learned the truth about his brother, who kicks the bucket because of an illness.

It takes a few weeks after that for Sasuke’s Mangekyo Sharingan to finally manifest, the ultimate development of his prowess in battle.

What Are the Abilities of Sasuke’s Mangekyo Sharingan?

Sasuke’s Mangekyo abilities are pretty impressive, including a never-ending black flame, the ability to shape and manipulate said flame, and a gigantic, chakra-based avatar.

But with great power comes great responsibility … and eye damage. Frequent use of the Mangekyo Sharingan can cause the user’s eyes to bleed, damaging their vision to the point of blindness.

The only way to keep this from happening is for the Mangekyo Sharingan to be upgraded to the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan.

What is the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan?

With the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan, you get unlimited access to the Mangekyo abilities without worrying about losing your sight. Plus, you can unlock the perfect Susanoo! So how can you make this happen?

To upgrade to the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan, you need to find a willing blood-related donor (brother, cousin, or that one family member you never really talk to). The process involves transplanting their Mangekyo Sharingan into your own. Voila! You’re now rocking the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan, which can even restore vision to the blind. Move over, LASIK!

After the transplant, the patterns and designs of both the original user and the donor merge to form a brand new design. It’s like getting a matching tattoo, but with powers!

How Did Sasuke Get the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan?

Obito gave Sasuke Itachi’s eyes. After his battle with Danzo, Sasuke nearly lost his vision, so Obito transplanted Itachi’s eyes into Sasuke while he was recovering.

This all went down in episodes #216 and #220 of Naruto Shippuden, and let’s just say that things got a little eye-popping.

With his eternal eyes, Sasuke is now free to unleash his full Uchiha potential without the fear of going blind.

Why is Sasuke losing his eyesight?

He’s been using the Mangekyo Sharingan too much! It’s like staring at the sun for too long, except instead of burning your retinas, it digs a hole in your eyesight.

But the real straw that broke the camel’s back was his battle with Danzo. Sasuke was so determined to defeat him that he pushed his Mangekyo Sharingan to its absolute limit, leaving his eyesight in tatters as a result.

Luckily for Sasuke, Obito came to the rescue with some eye-ssential eye surgery, transplanting Itachi’s eyes into Sasuke and restoring his vision while upgrading his Sharingan to the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan.

Now Sasuke can see clearly and kick butt without worrying about losing his sight.

Why Does Sasuke Have Two Different Mangekyo Sharingan?

Well, he doesn’t have two different Mangekyo Sharingan – he awakened his own Mangekyo Sharingan and then upgraded it to the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan by getting a pair of Itachi’s eyes.

Sasuke is just one of the two Uchihas to get their hands on the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan. The first lucky guy was Madara, but he’s dead now, so Sasuke is the only one with it alive. Pretty cool, eh?

Why Didn’t Sasuke Get the Mangekyo Sharingan When His Parents Died?

Sasuke didn’t get the Mangekyo Sharingan when his parents died since he was too busy blacking out and processing his emotions to focus on his Sharingan evolution. Maybe if he had just taken some deep breaths and tried a mindfulness exercise, he could have reached the Mangekyo Sharingan sooner!

Plus, the Sharingan has to go through different stages of evolution first, starting with the One Tomoe, then the Two Tomoe, then the Three Tomoe.  Only then can you reach the Mangekyo Sharingan. You can’t expect a baby to start walking right after it’s born, right?

So, he simply didn’t have the skills to develop it yet. Good things take time!

How Did Sasuke Get Amaterasu?

Have you ever received a gift from someone you didn’t expect? Well, that’s what happened to Sasuke. Itachi gave him the ultimate gift before dying, a one-time use of Amaterasu! But it wasn’t just any gift – Itachi also implanted his visual abilities into Sasuke, blessing his brother with permanently repaired eyesight. It was like a Sharingan inheritance.

How did Itachi do it? He set a trap within Sasuke’s Sharingan that automatically activated Amaterasu when it saw Obito’s Sharingan. You could say Itachi was playing the long game with his little brother.

But don’t think Sasuke got to keep Amaterasu for good. Itachi only gave him one chance to use it, and he had to use it wisely. Sasuke had to save it for a special occasion, and he did: during his fight with Killer Bee, when Sasuke’s Amaterasu was born.

Why Do Sasuke and Itachi Both Have Amaterasu?

Sasuke and Itachi both have Amaterasu because they’re brothers! It’s not like they’re necessarily going to have the same favorite pizza topping, but they can definitely share some cool eye powers.

Itachi got his Amaterasu from awakening his Mangekyo Sharingan, and then Sasuke got it too when Itachi transferred the ability to him. They also have different abilities in their other eyes, like Tsukuyomi for Itachi and Kagutsuchi for Sasuke. It’s like a family tradition.

Plus, their powers are similar, but different. Sasuke can produce black flame that never goes out, and Itachi can control said flames. Complementary, but separate!

Was Itachi Almost Blind When He Fought Sasuke?

Yes, and he had to squint harder than a poker player with a bad hand to see anything. The excessive use of the Mangekyo Sharingan during his battles had caused his vision to blur, making him practically cross-eyed.

Itachi had another problem: a long-known disease that was eventually going to kill him. He was able to use the Sharingan for eight years before losing his sight. Sasuke, on the other hand, only used the Sharingan for less than a month before his eyesight started going south.

It just goes to show that you need to take eye care seriously, even if you’re a ninja.

Is Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan The Strongest Sharingan?

The Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan is no joke … but the real deal is the Rinne-Sharingan. The boss of all Sharingans, it’s the ancestor of both the Rinnegan and the Sharingan. This eye has the power to cast Genjutsu so strong that it’ll make you forget your own name, and its space-time ninjutsu can take you to places you’ve never even dreamed of.

Only a handful of characters, like Kaguya, Madara, and Sasuke, have been lucky enough to lay their hands on this god-level Dojutsu. So, the next time you hear someone say that the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan is the strongest Sharingan, just give them a good laugh!
